Hooting and Howling Magazine – Upcoming Albums of 2016 – Blossoms

Originally online December 2015

Album: (as yet untitled)
Release date : some point in 2016

For these five Stockport lads, 2015 has been a pretty damn good one. But of course with great fun, comes hard work. Gigging to save their lives this year – they’ve already supported the likes of James, Paul Weller, and The Courteeners – with Liam Fray himself as a particular big fan.

After releasing 3 stunning Eps; ‘Cut Me and I’ll Bleed’, ‘Blown Rose’ and ‘Charlemagne’ they give us indie rock, tinged with a psychedelic twist. Melodic keys/synths mixed with heavy guitar riffs and songs of longing for ‘that girl that got away.’

With a places on BBC Sounds of 2016 poll and MTV’s Brand New for 2016 spotlight already under their belts, this coming year sees the band release their eagerly awaited debut album.

The record itself is pretty hush hush right now. But this is what we do know..

Recorded in Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, with the producing skills of The Coral’s James Skelly no less – speculated tracks include the catchily brilliant Charlemagne, crowd pleaser Blow, the hauntingly acoustic My Favourite Room, along with loads more new material..

The lads embark on another (bigger) headline tour this coming February – so will surely be showcasing the new record in its glorious entirety – before its release some time in 2016.
